Ok what kind of gas does a lawn mower take and is it the same as lighter gas because lighter gas is alot less stronger

My lawn mower is about two years old. But when I mow it works fine for a while then shuts off. I’ve cleaned the filter, it has plenty of gas, and the oil is good. A friend said to spray a little WD-40 on it and it worked fine for a minute and then the same thing again. Can’t figure out exactly the problem is. Any answers or suggestions?

I have accessed the company’s website to get a manual download, however they do for whatever reason do not recognize the serial and model number on the riding mower… I am not sure why - as I have tried it with dots, slashes, hyphens and spaces [the only thing missing are the bells and whistles] and still no results…

I am sure eventually I’ll figure it out - or take to the next repair place - it’s simply that I would have liked to get the grass cut this weekend…

So I’m not good with gas powered vehicles. I left oil and some gas (I think) in my lawn mower this past winter thinking it wouldn’t be a big problem.

Well, now it is. It won’t start. I read on another question that I had to drain out the old oil (which is now an ugly gray color) but I don’t know how.

How do you drain it out without turning the mower upside down and shaking it? And is there anything else I need to do to get my mower up and running?
